Time to go home, left Two Harbors, MN at 8:30 , checked out some ships in Duluth  

    
    
    
 Total of approximately 1030 miles this weekend. Had a great time and learned a lot about mining , that I will probably forget anyway.

Survived the storm last night, Gonna see where Rick takes leads me today, seen a lot of cool stuff so far….

  KLR turned 40000 miles , pulled over to take a pic of odometer and saw a black bear  

Rick said he likes it in the caboose 

   

  Going underground about 2350 feet at Soudan mine.

   
   Guide did a good job , tour was well worth the $12

  Had a great day until we got caught in the rain , Rick stopped at somebody’s house and stood on the porch until the rain let up, decided it was safer to go back to Two Harbors and pay the exuberant price at American Inn. Better go finish washing and drying clothes.

  Learned a few things about mining on a trolley ride

  3rd tallest statue in the U.S.

  This guy was retiring today from the greyhound museum at age 86, We ate some cake and ice cream to celebrate.

   Hull Rust open pit mine is unbelievably huge and has been open since 1895

   
  

 Finished the day with a swim in Stourgen lake, felt great after the hot and humid day.
